The 1961 hit movie 'West Side Sory' gets a 2021 refresh courtesy of Steven spielberg and the original Leonard Bernstein score gets similar treatment. Arranged and adapted by composer David Newman, the new score includes vocals from the films ensemble cast including Ansel Elgort, Rachel Zegler, Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez and Rita Moreno, who played Anita in the 1961 film adaptation and stars as Valentina in this film.
The film score was recorded with Gustavo Dudamel conducting the New York Philharmonic orchestra plus additional sections with the Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestra.
