Product Description
Lady Blackbird brings you her debut album, Black Acid Soul. Dripping in old time jazz, wrapped in sensual soul vocals, this is an album that will stay on your record player for a long time.
Throughout the 11 tracks on the album Lady Blackbird brings simple but elegant tunes to life, whilst showing true power and pressence when needed. Original tracks, some written alongside Seefried, sit alongside classic tracks from the past, including ‘Beware the Stranger’, which Lady Blackbird calls a rerub of 'Wanted dead or alive', a rare groove classic recorded by funk/gospel collective Voices of East Harlem in 1973 and the inspired reinvention on the aching 'It'll never happen again', written by Tim Hardin, which first appeared on the folk singers seminal 1966 debut.
Many jazz/soul singers are labelled with the voice of an angel, Lady Blackbird certainly deserves that accolade.
