Originally released in April 1993, the album was recorded following the break up of Bowie's band, Tin Machine, and was co-produced alongside Nile Rodgers. The album features several guest appearances, including Mick Ronson, Mike Garson and Lester Bowie. The album received much critical acclaim upon release for it's wide variety of musical styles from rock and soul, to jazz, pop and electronic.
