Originally released in May 2004, Hopes and Fears was Keane's debut studio album. It debuted at number one on the UK album chart and became the second best-selling British album of the year. It included their first major single 'Somewhere only we know', which reached number three on the UK singles charts.
The band went on to win 'Best British album' and the 'British breakthrough act' award at the 2005 Brit awards.
